I said it on Lenore’s blog and I’ll say it here: I really think killer unicorns is one of the coolest book premises I’ve ever heard.

China Mieville was inspired to write Un Lun Dun, his first YA, solely because he had an image of killer giraffes and realized he could never write them for adults.
