FYI: Matthue and I had a long and awesome chat, and he talks quite a lot and very fast, which is part of what made it so awesome. But it also explains the many ellipses and the fact that it seems as if we jumped around crazily from one topic to another.

Like, for instance, Matthue references humility in question seven, which in his answer to question five he explained was, for him, at the root of religion. In question seventeen, Matthue mentions that he can't get the characters from Losers out of his head. What's left out is that he has been writing some about a particular character but isn't sure what, if anything, will come of it.

There's so much more, so if you're confused by any of the questions or answers, do ask for more info. I'll provide it if I can, and if we're lucky Matthue may stop by and answer a few questions himself. :)

Nina, I'm so glad you liked it, in spite of Kafka usually being a nightmare for you. I told you it was only riffing on and not rewriting The Metamorphosis. :)

Even my boyfriend read Fly on the Wall -- without telling me! I woke up one morning and found the book oddly sitting on the dining room table, when I knew it had been on my bookshelf the day before. It turned out he was reading it for twenty minutes at a time when he got home at night (this was when he was finishing grad school, and generally getting home long after I'd gone to sleep myself). I seem to recall him saying he enjoyed it.

OMGosh! I LOVE this book! I WAS obsessed with Twilight for the longest time. I had to BEG my mom to get me the books cause I read like every one in TWO days! But then I read The Huger Games and now I don't know which is my favorite?!?!?!?!?!??! If it wasn't for Sephanie Meyer I would have never known it exsisted. Just in time too, cause I was just about to go to book fair like in a week and didn't know what book to get. Then in these little magazine things they give us giving us and idea of the books that are oging to be there.... I saw it! I saw The Hunger Games! I also wanted the host, but my mom said only one... ugh..... so anyway. I got it! WOOO! I read it in like 1 and a half days. There are soooooo many questions I want to ask! *BOOK TWO COMES OUT SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER OF 2209!* Thats CRAZY! I almost started crying when I found that out... cause I absolutley LOVE books.... and my mom was like.. Whats wrong? I was like THE BOOK!!!!!!
BC, you know that was a metaphor. I'm sure there are even young women involved. But old white men hold all the power. :)

But really, what I'm saying here is that perhaps my prejudice is not quite fair. Because obviously these novels can be and often are very good.

I read this book not too long ago, and I had no idea it was written as an assembly-line book. Of course, this explains why I couldn't find anything at all about the author online. I really enjoyed the book and I'm glad you did as well. :)

Also, do they have to be old, white men? Why can't there be women involved too? Or even young white men? lol

This was certainly compelling, but I wanted to like it more. I was disappointed that there will be book two, because there are so many series and so few stand alone novels. Certainly worth buying, but not the best thing I've read!
